Unfortunately nowadays MIPS lacks lowlevel initialization support.
Yesterday I mailed RFC about pbl (prebootloader) support. It needs
much work, but IMHO after incorporating MIPS pbl support the status of
"PRE_IMAGE" will be more clear.
